The Native American Style Flute (NASF) is an easy and versatile instrument with a beautiful, soulful voice. Traditionally, it was used in prayer or for courting. In modern times, it can be found in many genres of music. During this 5 week class you will begin making music from the very first class. We will learn to play intuitively (without written music) as well as learn the fundamentals of written NASF music, which is known as NAF Tablature. If you have one or more NASF's, feel free to bring them, but don't worry if you don't have one, because everyone will receive a PVC NASF flute that is tuned to the A minor Pentatonic scale. No prior music experience is needed, only a desire to learn and have fun in a supportive and judgment free environment.

Instructor,  Kristen Weyrick-Scott is a multi-Instrumentalist and plays locally with the World Music Group, Shakti Rhythms.
